I believe in Independence.
I believe in independence. My inspiration throughout my life has always been my mother. my mother came from a small town in Scranton, PA. She grew up in a large family where a college education was vastly more typical in the male gender. However, her father always taught her that any amount of success can be achieved if so desired. Taken from that was a strong passion for one day working in New York City. At the young age of twenty-three, Debra Ann Graham traveled to NYC to seek employment. Seeking job opportunities became more difficult as doors remained closed. She was told that she did not have proper job experience. Finding work became her obsession. Finally, at the age of twenty-five she began her career in cosmetics.
This story shaped my beliefs by making me realize that being independent and taking responsibility for yourself are the most important traits a person can behold. My mother shows great example of those traits. Everything she does, she does for her family, and most of all for herself.
In conclusion, my mother now lives a happy life. She lives without worry that if something crucial and upsetting should happen...she would survive.
